AM / FM / SSB 10 Meter Radio
Description Reviews (12) The new DX99V2 is the only Galaxy all mode mobile radio. It operates on AM/FM/LSB/USB. With dual MOSFET finals (instead of four or eight finals) the DX99V2 draws less than 10 amps and can be hooked up anywhere a standard radio is wired no special heavy gauge wiring is required. GALAXY 99V2 SSB 10 METER RADIO. SUPER TUNED AND ALIGNED. GALAXY HAS DONE A GREAT JOB BRINGING THIS CLASSIC BACK WITH THE UPGRADES. IT NEEDED AND KEEPING ALL THE TREASURES WE LEARNED TO LOVE ABOUT THE ORIGINAL. 10-Meter Radios are intended for use by amateur radio operators only. A license from the FCC is required.

- NEW Galaxy 99V2 10 Meter Radio This radio will be shipping on 7-17-2013!! While the features are essentially the same as the classic DX99V, it has a few significant upgrades:. High performance main circuit board (same as the one used in the DX98VHP) provides increased frequency stability and accuracy for sideband, as well as increased sensitivity and selectivity on receive. Streamlined.

10 meter FM Band Conversion (26.065 – 29.655MHz Mod)
Remove the covers from the radio and locate X2 (grid location E2 Main PCB). Replace X2 13.560MHz crystal to a 14.460MHz crystal. | |
2. | Do a complete Alignment of the radio. |
Re-Assemble the unit and check All Bands and functions for Proper operation. |
This will give you the following freqs. in order.
Band A = 26.065 – 26.505
Band B = 26.515 – 26.955
Band C = 26.965 – 27.405
Band D = 27.415 – 27.855
Band E = 27.865 – 28.305
Band F = 28.315 – 28.755
Band G = 28.765 – 29.205
Band H = 29.215 – 29.655
This will cover almost the complete 10 meter range 28.000 – 29.700 and still keep the 11 meter CB.

Galaxy 99v2 Service Manual Troubleshooting
Disabling Talkback (“SMT” Echo PCB) ( EPTOSSB50C)
tip: | Talkback can become distorted if these radios have been “peaked,” and there is no cure because the talkback just amplifies what goes to the RF section. Try adding a 470k ohm resistor from junction of C154/R207 to the junction of C187/R235 on the solder side of the board. This will also give you clean talkback on SSB and FM. Try different values of resistance to get the amount of volume you want. The less the resistance the louder the talkback will be. |

Roger Beep Tone Mod
The tone and time of the roger beep on the DX99V can be changed as follows: * The Roger Beep tone is controlled by R181 which is 220K ohms: For a higher tone try 150K to 200K ohms. For a lower tone try 270K to 2M ohms. * The Roger Beep time is controlled by C134 which is 2.2uF@16V DC: For longer time try 5uF or 10uF@16V DC. For shorter time try 1uF@16V DC. |
