Radio Nam Fallout 4

A fallout set in any state that got hit, but not with the full brunt of the nukes. Nukes get dropped, contact is lost with the other bases. The CO puts the base on lockdown and moves all non essential personell to the bases' bunkers and all essential personell are put in MOPP gear/power armor to guard the base from looters and opportunists.

There's only so many times you can hear the same song or DJ intro in the Fallout series before its time to turn that Pipboy off or risk throwing it across the Wasteland and letting some Deathclaw eat it so you never have to hear 'Ain't That A Kick In The Head' again.

While the options have expanded over time with subsequent entries, this is still one of the weak links of the series. As with any of Bethesda's myriad failings though, the mod community has stepped in to increase your options and keep the game versatile.

Here we're covering 7 of the best radio station mods currently available to keep your listening experience fresh and entertaining!

Radio Nam Fallout 4 Nuka

Rogue Radio

From indie metal label Rogue Records America comes the heaviest station in the Commonwealth featuring your hosts Johnny Rogue and 'Fearless' Jes Fama as they play the best heavy metal of yesteryear before the world went to hell.

Radio Nam Fallout 4 Weapons

There's a ton of hard rock and extreme metal on this playlist, ranging from groups like All Hail The Yeti and Binary Code to more well known outfits like Devildriver and Testament.

Radio Enhanced

Anyone can add in a music playlist for a radio mod, but what's harder is getting music that matches the tone of the radio stations from Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Fallout 4.

Xbox

No small task, this mod features the addition of 286 new lore-friendly tracks that are all public domain from the '30s - 60's and deal with topics like nuclear fallout and other appropriately '50s topics.

Old World Radio Boston

An absurdly highly rated mod, it's clear that a ton of work went into Old World Radio Boston. With a ton of radio stations, there's old timey broadcasts about radiation and high quality voice acting for various new programs in addition to a bunch of added music above and beyond what's included in the vanilla game. Some completely match the theme of the game, and others are just bizarre... like 'Pee-Wee's Playlist.'

WRVR

Not just an entirely new radio station added to the game with a custom voiced host, WRVR also includes a new companion in the form of DJ Casey Kessler. In keeping with the lore of the game, songs are very old timey and deal with the local area of the Commonwealth.

More Where That Came From (Diamond City Radio Edition)

Another mega pack of new tracks, 'More Where That Came From' adds in more than 100 lore-friendly, thematically appropriate songs to Diamond City Radio. In order to avoid problems with the radio announcer discussing songs that aren't being played when new tracks come on, it also disables Travis' audio segments talking before and after any given song.

Atomic Radio / Tales From The Commonwealth

This pre-war radio channel is chock full of hilarious ads and public service announcements for lore-friendly products found across Fallout 4, in addition to the Tales From The Commonwealth custom quest line.

Jetfuel Radio

The Jetful Radio station adds in two additional hours of content including custom commentary with a host discussing life in the Commonwealth. There's 46 new song additions to boot, significantly increasing the number of songs to listen through while blowing up raiders and helping whatever pointless settlement Preston Garvey has sent you to lately.

There you have it -- seven new radio mods that will drastically expand your listening options while searching for Shaun, building new robotic companions, and taking over Nuka World! What's your favorite new radio station, and what other radio mods should we try out next?

The following is based on Fallout Tactics and some details might contradict canon.

The Vietnam War was a military conflict that took place in the Fallout universe. The Fallout Tactics intro explicitly mentions a declaration of War in Vietnam[1] and includes fragments of speeches made by Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon concerning the war. Making this an excellent example of a divergence in the Fallout timeline as this never happened in real life.

No other details are available on the subject.

Appearances

The Vietnam War is mentioned only in Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel.
