        Transcripts from Atlanta Country Day School are accepted by public, private, and charter schools across Rhode Island.

        The transcript is included in the cost of the course. The price of includes an official transcript, as well as a Certificate of Completion for possible insurance discount purposes.

      • How will I receive the credit?

        We'll send you two copies of your transcript with the credit. One will be an unofficial student transcript for you to keep.

        Another will be the official transcript in a sealed envelope. You or your parent must deliver the sealed envelope with the official transcript directly to your high school.

RI Online Driver Education - How it Works

I Drive Safely's Rhode Island drivers ed course is designed to help you learn extra information and skills, so you're 100% prepared to get out on the road. The course is broken up into individual chapters, and each chapter has its own multiple-choice quiz. The quizzes help you remember what you learned, so that when it comes time for your final exam, you're fully prepared. Each quiz is made up of 10 questions, and you must get at least 80% on each quiz to move forward with the course.

When You Finish Your Driving Course

You will take a 50-question exam at the end of your course. It is multiple-choice, and you must score at least an 80% to pass. Once you pass your course, your certificate of completion will be mailed to you. You can select the shipping option that works best for you.

Rhode Island teens between the ages of 16 and 18 are eligible to get a drivers permit. According to Rhode Island drivers ed requirements, you must take an approved drivers ed course that is 33.5 hours in length. Once you successfully complete this course and pass the written exam, you will be given a certificate. After you receive your certificate, you will go to the nearest DMV location and follow these steps:

  • Bring your certificate and license/ID/permit application
  • Provide a birth document and social security card

A parent/legal guardian/licensed foster parent/adult spouse must be present to sign your Rhode Island drivers instruction permit application. Your drivers permit is valid for 1 year or until you turn 18, whichever comes first. You will not be allowed to take a road test until you have held your permit for 6 months.

How to Earn Your Rhode Island Drivers License

To earn your limited provisional license, you must have held your limited instructional permit for a minimum of 6 months and not been convicted of any traffic violations during that time. You will also need to provide an affidavit that is signed by a parent/guardian stating that you have completed at least 50 hours of supervised driving practice, with 10 of those hours taking place at night.

In order to get your full Rhode Island drivers license, you must be at least 17 years of age, but younger than 18. You will also need to have held a limited provisional license for a minimum of 12 months, and not been convicted of any traffic violations during the last 6 months.
